Kelly was my neighbor throughout her childhood and on into college. I knew she was going to be a great basketball player very early on, as at age nine she and I would take on a couple of the teenage neighborhood boys in a little 2 on 2. She was bustin it from three point land way back then. I was always used to seeing her in a t-shirt and gym shorts with her hair pulled back in a ponytail and no make-up. She looked the part of tomboy. Then I saw her one night at a school function and nearly fell over! She looked like a model that had just stepped out of a photo shoot. Kelly is truly a beautiful young lady whose beauty is not limited to her outward appearance. But then, I'm not telling a lot of folks something they don't already know.
As far as coaching goes, she will be an asset on any school's staff.
She might be HELPING with volleyball. Coach Reed is head coach, no doubt. It is still uncertain about the basketball job though.
What about the softball coaching job at Gate City? Does Kellie coach softball or will Amy Bledsoe keep the job?
She won't take it. She's not very interested in softball.

Anyway, her shoulder injury would probably have prevented her from playing. RC's loss, for sure, as she was one of the best female athletes to ever come out of the Cove, and out of SW Virginia as far as that goes. She most impressed me when she learned to hit left handed (volleyball) after the shoulder injury prevented her from htting right-handed.
